Synopsis

The Naval Air Systems Command, (NAVAIR) intends to enter into a sole source negotiations for a Cost Plus Fixed Fee/Firm Fixed Price contract with BAE Systems in Crestview, FL. BAE has completed 70% of the testing and design for the integration of the Mode Select S Level 2 Enhanced Surveillance (EHS) capabilities into 48 United States Navy and United States Marine Corps aircrafts. The C/KC-130T surveillance system shall meet requirements defined in the Chief of Naval Operations Functional Requirements Document for Mode Select; Revision A. Requirements for this modification are based on airborne transponder Mode S functionality and interoperability guideline requirements. These requirements are identified in the Dodd AIMS 97-1000, 18 March 1998, SATANG 4193 Parts I and IV, and CIAO Annex 10 Vol. III and IV. Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS), Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Mark XII System (AIMS) equipment will incorporate Mode S capability to the extent required to perform the intended functions.
