(b) On November 4, 2010, Mark A. Zaeske announced his intent to resign as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer of Discover Financial Services (the Company) to assume the position of Head of Finance of a private investment firm. Mr. Zaeskes resignation will be effective as of November 12, 2010. Roy A. Guthrie, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company, commented, We are grateful for Marks contributions and wish Mark well in his new position.
Concurrent with Mr. Zaeskes resignation, Mr. Guthrie is assuming the responsibilities of Chief Accounting Officer of the Company on an interim basis in addition to his existing responsibilities.
